Founder and guide

An agency that fits inside one person.

NESS Voyage is Tony. He builds the itineraries, he answers you before departure, and he is there from the first day to the last. There is no sales department behind him: you speak directly to the person who will be with you.

His story

Passionate about African culture — and it shows

Tony is a guide because he is curious first. He spent years listening to elders, hanging around markets, going back to the same villages until people expected him. It is that familiarity — not a certificate — that separates seeing a place from being received in it.

He works in Benin and Togo, and is preparing Ghana. He talks about all three with the same precision: what is worth the detour, what is not, and what depends entirely on the day you happen to pass through.

The photograph beside this text was taken at the Python Temple in Ouidah. It is not a brochure pose: it is an ordinary Tuesday.

Responsible travel

Four commitments, kept on the ground.

The word "responsible" has become a selling point. Here is what it actually covers with us — checkable, not declarative.

The providers are local

Drivers, paddlers, cooks, hosts, craftspeople: they are local, paid directly and at the rate agreed with them. The money from the trip stays where the trip happens.

The groups stay small

Not as a pose, but because a village cannot absorb a coach. In small numbers you enter people’s homes without disturbing them, and leave without having damaged anything.

We ask before photographing

Always. Some places and some ceremonies are not photographed, and that is entirely right. Tony tells you what is done and what is not, before you arrive.

We avoid the saturated routes

There is a fast version of these countries, made of photo stops and souvenir shops. It is not the one we sell, even when it would be easier to arrange.

Reconnection

For many, this is not a holiday.

A number of the travellers Tony guides come from the diaspora. They are not going on holiday: they are coming back. Walking the Slave Route when your own family carries that history is nothing like a guided tour, and the programme adapts — more time, less commentary, and the right to stop.

If that is you, say so in your very first message. It changes how we build your fourteen days.
